Year 12 Formal 2007
Over 60 pupils and friends attended along with 16 staff. Preparations began weeks before with appointments being made for dress fittings, spray tans, hair styling and manicures. However in the days just before the event Year 12 pupils could talk about nothing else!
The Hilton staff made everyone very welcome and we had our photographs taken. Staff The annual formal was held in the Hilton Hotel, Belfast on Thursday 18 January 2007. arrived to support us and we were really pleased to see that they had joined in the spirit of things and got dressed up for the night. We had a great time admiring all the dresses as people arrived and it has to be said the young men played their part. A dazzling array of tuxedos, zany waistcoats and cravats were on display.
The tables were beautifully set for our meal and decorated with balloons in the school colours. The menu was Melon and Berry Cocktail, Roast Stuffed Breast of Chicken with Vegetables and Sauté Potatoes followed by Chocolate Profiteroles. Anyone who had any room left could have tea or coffee with After Dinner Mints. It was really good service with the waiters setting our napkins on our knees at the beginning of the meal and calling us sir or madam.
Following the meal the Disco got under way but first we had to find out whom the King and Queen of the Prom would be. Mrs McKay put all the tickets into a bag and Mrs Laird pulled out the lucky winners. Adam Ross was the King and Courtney Floyd was the Queen. Courtney was presented with a lovely bouquet of flowers and her crown and Adam got some chocolates along with his crown.
It had been a fantastic night and we all had great fun. Being dressed formally was a new experience for most of us and made us feel very grown up. We would like to thank Mr Allister who organised the formal ? we do appreciate all the hard work, which went into the planning. Also we would like to thank Mrs McKay who also put a lot of work into making the evening a success.
